Assault

“Brain injury does not mean brain dead”. This is just one of a number of no-nonsense statements in Greg’s talk. His passion for sharing his story and educating adults about the impact of acquired brain injury is evident throughout this straight forward and impactful presentation.

While travelling home on a train one night, Greg was assaulted by a gang and thrown from the moving carriage. It wasn’t until the next day that he was found by a guard and taken to hospital. He was given a 5% chance of survival. Greg did survive but with a severe traumatic brain injury, broken neck and damaged spine. After spending 4 years living in a nursing home he was finally able to obtain 24 hour care which has enabled him to move into his own home. These life experiences and more have impelled him to spread the word about how precious life is.
