Applications for casual Community Support Workers are always open.
Community Support Workers assist participants in their own homes and/or in the community with the goal of enabling participants to achieve their life goals.
The worker will support participants with activities as varied as attending a community college course, attending the gym, travel training, cooking simple meals, shopping, swimming, eating out etc.
This may involve transporting participants to an activity and/or venue (by car, walking, bus or train), assisting the participant to complete the activity (providing support in the classroom, swimming or walking in a pool, doing the gym class etc.) and some direct personal support (changing clothes, cutting up food, behavioural support etc.).
Successful applicants will have:

Relevant qualifications e.g. Certificate III or IV in disabilities OR

Aged Care, with consideration given to candidates with Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
e.g: Nursing, Social Science, Psychology or other Health Disciplines.

Assistance with experience working with people with a disability as a front-line worker or carer

Sensitivity to & experience working with people from CALD backgrounds

Demonstrated written & spoken English Skills

Access to a full comprehensively insured motor vehicle

Current Drivers licence

Mobile phone (smart phone with internet capability)

Current First aid certificate

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Ability to work flexible hours as required and or weekend/evening

Meet Mandatory Disability Employment Guidelines under NSW Health Legislation
Experience working with people with an Acquired Brain Injury is an advantage, as is knowledge of the NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Principals and Practice Standards.
Salary: SCHADS Award Social & Community Services Level 2.
